There are many ways in which The National Psychiatric Billing Service is different from most other billing services.  First of all we work only with behavioral health providers.   We have established contacts at most of the major insurance companies and we know how to get you paid for the work you do.  Secondly, we use a dot net software which means that you can see your patient account information and print reports from your office.  Our software has an easy to use electronic scheduler that is free to you when you contract with us to do your billing.

HCFA 1500 and HCFA 1450 (UB04) Claim Forms The National Psychiatric Billing Service can electronically file both the HCFA 1500 and the HCFA 1450 (UB92) claim forms. Traditionally, physician services have been billed to insurance carriers on the HCFA 1500. Recently, some third-party payers are requiring use of the UB92 format especially for bundled services like Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).

Included with our services, at no extra cost to you, is a powerful, easy-to-use, internet-based patient scheduling program. You define appointment types, lengths, frequency, and blackout times. You can schedule multiple providers and apply color-coding to appointment types and providers.

Patient Statements and Collection Letters

 Patient Statements and collection letters can be generated automatically by the software system using parameters defined by your practice. Most clients send statements to patients who have a balance after insurance has paid. A statement can begenerated the day a balance is transferred to patient responsibility. Most practices send three statements and if there is no response then send three collection letters. The statements are very professional in appearance and the way they are set up can be user-defined. We will provide you with suggested collection letters or you can write your own. The cost to your practice for statements and collection letters is 50 cents each which includes the cost of paper, envelope, folding, printing, and postage.
